Every message has two aspects:
- The factual information that is conveyed.
- A statement about the relationship between the two
people who are communicating.
If we disagree about the facts, but the relationship
between us is strong and flexible, we can "agree
to disagree" and move on.
On a deeper level, trading is always about trusting
and understanding each other. It is about the willingness
to give up part of what we consider "our"
or "our right" or "our entitlement",
and hand it over to the other side.
